'Tornadoes ripping through Los Angeles, a massive snowstorm pounds New Delhi, hail the size of grape fruit batters Tokyo, and in New York the temperature drops from boiling to freezing in a matter of minutes'.

The Director of Independence Day, Roland Emmerich has produced an action packed movie complete with adrenalin pumping special effects to keep the audience awake the entire movie. In one of this year's best sci-fi thriller movies I must say I haven't been so entertained since Lord of the Rings! This movie hits you with emotion and the seriousness of the world around us. TDAT is non-stop entertainment, however some of the geologist language makes no sense to me. You get over this and look at the Hollywood aspect of the destruction of the world. With people screaming and some great personalities sticking out from the characters, the movie is flowing and entertaining throughout. The highpoint of TDAT are the destruction scenes of Los Angeles and New York. However, you never see any major scenes of other parts of the world, just quick newsflashes every so often. It is the typical Hollywood movie. It focuses on the damage to America. Besides the slight over the top Hollywood aspect Roland Emmerich has done it again and created another blockbuster. TDAT gets my rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. An action packed thriller that has most definitely been one of the best movies I have seen.
