Hello everyone! Its Domi!
I am here to tell you about my brother Adrian who is turning 16 this month! He has mild autism. Early January, our old car got stolen, and in the boot was my brother's cricket bat. But this wasn't an ordinary cricket bat, this one was signed personally by the Australian cricket players. My brother was so sad and wouldn't stop worrying about it. He would say to my mum " Where's the bat? Have the police caught the thief? He was really sad for the next three weeks. Then all of a sudden. the police had found the car. We went to check if the bat was there. It was GONE. He was even more sad. I felt sorry for him, the cricket bat was a big thing to him. We emailed cricket australia about it. They didn't answer for several weeks. Then something really amazing happened. We spoke to our local newspaper and they put in a lovely article with Adrain asking for his bat. The Herald Sun then discovered It, and so did Cricket Australia. They organised something so grand, that i wanted to go too! It was Late February and we got invited to the MCG, by Cricket Australia. We got to walk up on the MCG the way all the cricket players do. And then one of my brother's favourite cricket players ran up with him! He then presented him with a new bat and an fancy cricket top, same size as Brett Lee and on the back of it had 08 Salvatore (Salvatore is our last name!). I felt so happy for him. I'm happy that some people in this world care. I'm happy that my brother's happy. Here is a link to the local newspaper article when he recieved a bat http://moonee.yourguide.com.au/news/local/general/adrians-bowled-over/1195461.html Thanks for reading! Please comment!
